Dr. Helmut Morsi
Dr. Helmut Morsi studied Physics and received a PhD (Dr rer.nat.) in 1985. His career started being as researcher in different institutes of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. In 1988 he began working o an European level, working with patent lawyers, participating in Euratom’s Joint European Torus.
Since 1994 he has managed various funding programmes for research and transport at the European Commission in Brussels (Training & Mobility of Researchers Networks – all fields of research, High-Level Scientific Conferences. After implementing and managing the Marco Polo programm, he became the deputy head of MOVE-B1 “Trans-European Network” and also the Head of Sector for the TENtec & Innovation on transport infrastructure. In 2006 on he has initiated TENtec. Since 2015 he is advisor to the director of “European Mobility Networks” (DG MOVE-B), which includes the coordination of innovation. In 2017 the Directorate was modified and enlarged. It has been thus renamed “Investments, Innovative & Sustainable Transport”.
