you hold your island and its nature near and dear? Then join the competition to become the “German island champion”.
Lighthouse in sight
The German islands have a unique nature attracting many tourists each year. And most of the islands do have a lighthouse. However, we are not looking for the building itself, but for projects and concepts in the fields of nature protection and environmental education. How do you manage islanders and tourists treating nature responsibly? The light of your initiative should be an orientation and a role model for other regions.
We are looking for concepts from:
- Schools (grade 1-10)
- Institutions for the elderly
- Local companies with its headquarter on a German island
The competition starts at 1st of September 2020. A student price and an entrepreneur’s price will be awarded and judged by an independent jury of experts. The winners of both categories receive a prize money of 1,500 Euros each. The award ceremony will take place on November 12th on Rügen.
Closing date is February 21st.
