
Prof. Dr. Jörg Philipp Terhechte
Jörg Philipp Terhechte holds the Chair of Public Law, European and International Law, and Regulatory and Antitrust Law at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He is Managing Director of the Leuphana Competition & Regulation Institute and Professor of Law (Honorary) at the University of Glasgow, School Of Law. He has been Head of the Professional School since 2013 and has been Vice President of the Leuphana University Lüneburg since 2016.
He studied jurisprudence and philosophy at the University of Bielefeld and was appointed Dr. iur. Promoted (s.c.l.). He graduated his traineeship at the federal cartel office in Bonn, the law firm of Coudert Brothers LLP in Brussels and the US Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C. After the Second Juridical State Examination, he worked as a scientific assistant at the universities of Bielefeld and Hamburg. Research and teaching subjects led him, among others, to The George Washington University Law School, the Georgetown Law Center and the University of Oxford.
In 2011, he was appointed to the Chair of Public Law (State and Administrative Law) and European Law to the University of Siegen. Since 2012 he has been a lecturer at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Its main areas of research are public law (in particular, public and administrative law, economic administration, antitrust and regulatory and commodity law), European law (in particular antitrust and competition law, the common commercial policy, customs law, EU external relations) as well as international law (in particular WTO law and international competition and antitrust law, investment protection law, state immunity and international administrative law).
