
Prof. Dr. Ines Lolo Britta Carstensen
Prof. Dr. Ines Lolo Britta Carstensen is the scientific director of the national research alliance for the tourism industry (CIST e.V., Center for Innovation & Sustainability in Tourism). Previously, she was Managing Director of Futouris e.V., the sustainability industry initiative founded in 2009 by seven TUI Group companies. Since 2011 she teaches as a professor for sustainability and innovation management and has her chair at the SRH-Hochschule Berlin. Previously, she carried out and led various research projects on the topics of climate, sustainable tourism, destination management and mobility at the universities in Lüneburg, Potsdam and at universities in Berlin. Sustainable tourism, tourism logistics, climate change in tourism as well as destination and innovation management are the focal points of her teaching and scientific publications. The positioning of German islands as part of the Europe-wide Smart Island Initiative flanked Prof. Carstensen with the initiation of transdisciplinary research collaborative projects and “Science to Destination Dialogues” in CIST.
